January

24th - 25th. Hrafnslith Training Weekend / Banquet / A.G.M & Manarafen Training weekend.
Held at the Ancient Technology Centre, Damerham rd, Cranbourne, Dorset. BH21 5RP. Planned training on Saturday and possibly Sunday morning. Over night accomodation in authentic buildings with evening banquet(please bring some food for the communial table) and any liquid refreshments you may require. Their will be testing as qualified RTTs are also attending this event. Contact Tony Thorpe if you require additional details.

18th - 19th Hrafnslith Training Weekend. Hrafnslith
Holy Trinity School, Weymouth, Dorset. Indoor camping.

25th Society Spring Camp & Banquet. SOCIETY
Jarls meeting during the day. Banquet at night, awards etc…… More details when we have them. We may look into transport if enough are interested.

May

1st - 4th. Corfe Castle, Dorset. Medium, Hrafnslith / Cwmwd Lal
For the forth year in a row we have impressed the National trust with our shows to be asked back again to this stunning castle. This is another joint show between Hrafnslith/ Cwmwd Lal, Gates will open between 10-5pm each day. There will be a L.H.E, The murder of the king Edward, a skirmish, Training of the fyrd, including Kiddie vik. The year is 876AD, a battle between King Alfred & Guthrum is fought at wareham

23rd - 25th. Crediton , Devon. Major, SOCIETY
To commemorate the first bishop of Crediton in 909AD. This is the first of six different events this year to commemorate the bishops 1100th anniversary.

June

20th - 21st. Lego Land Windsor. Minor, Russel Scott
A few combatants required to supliment a display of the Viking Longship at Legoland. If you would like to come along please email ASAP! Russ Ps last year we had free rides, free food and adequate camping with showers and WC alonside.

29th - 7th July. Peel Viking Festival, IOM. Major, SOCIETY
Monday 29th June to Friday 3rd July educational displays for schools. Saturday 4th July to Monday 6th July displays of Viking life and battles.

July

11th - 12th. Chiltern Open Air Museum. Medium, Valhalla
Provisional booking. Details to follow. Payout anticipated.

18th - 19th. Old Sarum Castle, Salisbury, Minor, Manaraefan
English Heritage Archeology Weekend Visit Old Sarum during the Festival for British Archaeology and spend time with an archaeologist uncovering artefacts from Old Sarum s history. Children can get involved with activities including a sand-pit excavation to learn how archaeologists uncover, recover and record evidence; and finds washing, to learn how archaeologists process the evidence! There are lots of fun and games to take part in like our Beat the Archaeologist Challenge or Guess the Mystery Object from Old Sarum s past. Plus, visit the Viking living history encampment on site and see how Vikings lived and fought.

25th - 26th. Ancient Technology Centre, Damerham rd, Cranbourne, Dorset, BH21 5RP. Minor, Hrafnslith
Start of their Archeology week & hopfully the opening of their long house. Open to the public 10-5ish on both days. L.H.E, crafts, show & tell & two skirmishes.

August

15th - 16th. Tithe Barn, Abbotsbury, Nr Weymouth, Dorset. Minor, Hrafnslith
Show opens at 10am each day till 5pm. There will be a show and tell with a skirmish & a main battle at 3pm. Come & see the saxon fyrd repel the viking invaders.

October

10th - 11th. Battle Abbey, Battle. Major, SOCIETY
Major show depicting the Battle of Hastings,  1066.  To be held at the English Heritage Battle Abbey.See English Heritage website for full details.
